Customization is key

I know there are a lot of workout programs and "get fit quick" programs floating around the internet these days. It seems easy to just click "buy" and have a workout program available to you immediatly that you can follow along and do. When followed correctly and diligently, a lot of these programs will help you lose some weight and get you going in the right fitness direction. The main problem with these online workouts are that they are basic, they don't account for YOUR body and YOUR goals. There just isn't any customization to you and what you want to accomplish. Getting off your butt and working out will help anyone, but in order to see real, lasting results you need a program that  is specific to you and your goals. A great training program takes into account your body, your time limits, your goals, your limitations, your injuries, etc. This information gives a trainer the requirements they need to make an effective program that can start where YOU need it to and keep progressing as YOU do. That's why customization is the key to meeting your long term goals and not hitting a plateau or getting injured within 6 weeks of your training.

If you don't want to hire a professional to help you, then be sure to take time and customize a training program for yourself. Omit exercises that don't fit your goals or challenge you. Add exercises that will help your problem areas and keep your body guessing and working in new ways. Everone's body is different and moves in different ways. What will help one person may not help you. The only way to get to where you want to be, and stay there, is to have a training program that fits YOU. So, the next time you go to workout be sure to train your body how it needs to be trained, don't just train in the same cookie-cutter way that you were led to believe works for everyone.

As always, if you need help personalizing your training to get great results, or you need some guidance with your health and fitness, hire a professional personal trainer to help you.  A good trainer will be there with you every step of the way to keep you accountable, motivated, and working hard to get results from your custom built training program. Train hard!
